Ceramic Nozzles & Tubes

Alumina blast, spray, burner and welding nozzles plus straight and stepped tubes — predictable wear life in abrasive and hot service.

A nozzle is a wear part by definition: it exists to accelerate or shape a stream, and the stream is what wears it out. Alumina nozzles wear evenly and predictably, which lets you schedule replacement instead of reacting to it.

Where it is used

  • Sandblasting and shot-blasting nozzles
  • Spray nozzles for water, slurry, chemicals and coatings
  • Burner nozzles and lances in furnaces and kilns
  • Welding and plasma torch nozzles and shields
  • Pneumatic injection and conveying nozzles
  • Quench and cooling nozzles in heat treatment

Available configurations

Type Bore range Notes
Straight bore nozzle Ø1.5 – 60 mm Blasting, injection, general flow control
Tapered / venturi nozzle Ø3 – 25 mm Blasting; the venturi reduces wear at the throat
Fan and flat spray by drawing Cooling, washing, coating
Hollow cone and full cone by drawing Spray drying, gas scrubbing, cooling towers
Straight tube Ø3 – 80 mm Furnace tubes, thermocouple protection, sight tubes
Stepped and flanged tube by drawing Where location and sealing matter

Threaded metal housings, retaining rings and quick-release holders can be supplied with the ceramic insert where the nozzle is changed frequently.

Grade selection

  • Blasting with sharp grit → AL-95, taper bore to reduce throat wear
  • Spraying abrasive slurry → AL-99, straight or fan
  • Burner and high-temperature duty → AL-99 / 99.7
  • Corrosive chemicals, HF or strong alkali → silicon carbide
  • Edge chipping at the nozzle tip → ZTA

Wear life and scheduling

Alumina nozzles fail by bore enlargement, not by breaking, so life is predictable: measure the bore when new, measure it at intervals, and replace at your wear limit. Tell us the abrasive and the pressure and we will give you an expected wear rate per hour of operation so you can plan replacement in advance.

Specify a nozzle or a tube
